Locating Persons

We Can Help You Find Someone

Missing persons investigations and locate investigations are conducted to find someone, locate their whereabouts, and uncover the contact information of a subject. While it can be a suspicious disappearance, it can also be as simple as someone who has run away or just an old friend you have lost contact with. There are many reasons you may need help to find a missing person, and there are times when you need professional help that does not involve the police.

We Don’t Use Online Databases

Internet database searches that are keyed in by clerks result in out of date, false, imprecise, and useless information. Our experienced investigators who have extensive training and backgrounds in law enforcement and private investigations perform these investigations with quick and accurate results.

North American Investigations have helped clients find missing children, lost loves, relatives and friends from upwards of fifty years ago. Sometimes clients with to reconnect with these individuals, and we have assisted them in doing this. Other times, clients are simply anxious to know what has become of the subject or if they are alive and well. We are always excited to facilitate these cases and bring much-needed answers to the clients.

Missing Persons Investigations can have suspicious and non-suspicious circumstances relating to each individual case. Examples of such cases are kidnappings, runaways, fugitives, and investigations of people going missing after 48 hours.  Locate Investigations are conducted to locate a person and provide the client with the most up-to-date information regarding them. Typical subjects include relatives, lost loves, friends, etc.

Not knowing what happened to someone you care about can be very frustrating. Often people will marry and change their name, move to different states, change phone number, and disappear. Often using online searches will yield negative results. Hiring a private investigator to assist you in finding that person will more often than not disclose answers. Having a team of investigators to work solely on your case allows any and all leads to be followed. Internet searches search public sites searching for name matches. Imagine trying to find “Jane Smith” on Google. However, Private Investigators are able to connect dots from countless different locations to pinpoint the one “Jane Smith” the client is looking for.

The Police Can Only Help So Much

The police are trained to handle any kind of emergency situation from a violent situation to a kidnapping. What they do not do, however, is actively find a person who does not want to be found. Most missing person cases begin like this: a family member enters the police station to report a missing person; first question asked is “how long have they been missing?” If you say anything less than 24 hours they will instruct you to go home and wait until 24 hours have passed and then they will make a report. A lot can happen in 24 hours when a person is missing, and just because the police do not think they are in danger does not mean that it is true. You want to find your loved one but the police will not do a thing until that initial waiting period is over.

After your initial wait time is up, they will file a report and let you know if your loved one is found, but they will not actively search for your loved one. Additionally, in order for the police to launch a missing person investigation, they need to know the person left the home not on their own free will. This can be due to illness or danger but in any case, if a person over the age of 18 is missing because they wanted to leave, there will be no report and no investigation in most jurisdictions.

When to Call for help

While you may think your only recourse is to have the police find your loved one, you do have other options, such as hiring a private investigator. They are highly trained professionals who have various tactics that the police do not use to find your loved one. They will use their training to ensure that your friend or family member is found safe and returned to where they belong, without waiting 24 hours.

In addition to finding your loved one, your private investigator has many more talents that most people are unaware of. These talents include finding long lost relatives, friends and even past flames. Whoever you want to find, your private investigator will help you find them through their own missing person’s investigations or locate investigations.
